Sona explores the art of the Mughals, who created the most famous and dazzling empire that India has ever seen, from the Taj Mahal to fabulously intricate miniatures of court life. She questions whether the Mughals were trying to impose their own religion of Islam or indeed whether they were open to the religion and art of the country they were trying to conquer; and she discovers some of the 33,000 sacred temples hewn from rock, sandstone and marble in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

豆瓣电影影评：我其实是想给印度河的瑰宝4颗星的，但是稍微回味了一会儿，觉得它不值，还是三星半吧。其实，我一向对香港欧美剧非常宽容，甚至可以大言不惭的说，在国内和国际制作水平差距极大的情况下，我就是“双标”——都不在一个起跑线上，根本没法比呀。所以经常出现国外影片堪堪尚可，我却只给三星及格，香港欧美剧只是稍微拍出了一点点好看，我就会给三星及以上，如果演员演技爆炸或者剧本极佳，我也不会吝啬我的5星，但是如果按照给国外影片打分的标准，这些香港欧美剧可能通通都只能有三四颗星以下。
